Proposal Meaning & Definition :
First we know what a proposition is:
Proposal: As per section 2(a), "when a person expresses his will to another person to do or not to do any act with the intention of having the consent of the other person to do or not to do that act." received, he is said to have made the offer.
When a party expresses his willingness to do or not to do any work before another party with the intention of obtaining the consent of the other party, then here the expression of desire by one party to the other party is called proposal.
Note: Before accepting the offer the person is asked to:
1. proposer (mover) > person who proposes.
2.The offeree > the person in front of whom the offer is made.
Note: After accepting the offer the person is said to:
1. Promisor (promoter) > The proposer is said to be "versatile" after the offer is accepted.
2. Promise > The person who accepts the offer is called "promisor".

George tells Jack that I want to buy your car for Rs 10 lac. Hood. will you save your car from me
Here George is expressing his wish to Jack with the intention that according to his trust (i.e 10 lac) 'car' should fill him with the hope of survival. Here is the proposal made by George to Jack

What are the Components of a Proposal :
- There must be at least two parties to the proposal.
- Offer can be positive or negative.
- The proposal is made for the purpose of establishing a legal relationship.
- The proposition can be explicit and implicit.
- The proposition can be specific or general.
- The object of the offer is to obtain the consent of the offeree.
- Proposal can be in writing or in writing or type to anyone.
- Offer can be video or audio.
- For the proposal to be valid, it is absolutely necessary that the special conditions of the proposal should be told along with the proposal.
- Nothing shall be contained in the motion so as to compel the other party to respond to the motion.
Proposal Statutory Rule / Legal Provision Related With Proposal :
(1) There must be at least two parties to the motion
(2) The proposition can be positive or negative.
(3) May be clear or hot. Can be specific or simple.
(4) The motion is made to establish a legal relationship.
(5) The terms of the offer should be definite.
(6) An offer is deemed to have been made when the offer comes to the notice of the person to whom the offer is made. When a person gives acceptance without the knowledge of the offer, then it cannot be considered as acceptance. The offer can be in writing, orally, by sign, face-to-face, over the telephone, by radio, by TV, by newspaper or by handbill. It can even be done through animals and birds, but the court does not consider the tape recorded proposal as a valid proposal. There should be nothing in the motion to compel the other party to respond to the motion
(7) Willingness to propose is not treated as an offer. Can go Hence, the advertisement of the auction is the desire of the offer. Similarly, an invitation to offer cannot be treated as an offer. Catalog, price slip, menu card of hotel, answer to inquiry, company details, railway time table, advertisement of insurance, information about applications for vacant posts, etc. In the example of invitation to offer, this offer is not there.
